Noise Floor
A downloadable game
Every message degrades on its way to you. Including the ones you send yourself.
You are a signal trying to reach a receiver. The rooms need more hands than you have - plates held down, gates opened at the right instant, walls that yield only to a precise number of bodies.
So you record yourself, and transmit.
But a transmission is not a copy. It travels through a medium, and the medium leaves its mark. Your echo may arrive mirrored, landing in sealed rooms you could never walk into. It may arrive late, acting seconds after you did — and each transmission arrives later than the last. It may drop out entirely, blinking off mid-task and taking whatever it was holding with it.
Every transmission costs you. The noise floor rises. The signal sours. Send too many and static swallows the message whole.
THE PUZZLE
The question is never where do I stand. It's what do I send, knowing the channel will mangle it, and knowing the mangling stacks.
Ten channels, escalating from a single echo to a finale where the budget permits exactly one solution — and the only thing that opens the final wall is your own signal failing on schedule.
CONTROLS
A / D — move
Space — jump
Enter or Q — send transmission
R — restart attempt
Esc — menu
Restarting is free. Experiment.
THEMES
Built for the S.T.E.M Jam. All four themes are mechanical, not decorative:
TRANSMISSION — an echo is a message from past-you; the puzzle is what survives the channel
MEDIUM — the same recording produces a different echo depending on the zone it crosses
SIGMA — you are what accumulates; every transmission permanently raises the noise floor
ECHO — past actions return as playable agents, rippling through every loop after
~NOTES~
Made solo in Unity. All audio is synthesised procedurally at runtime - every tone, sweep and burst generated in code rather than sampled.
Contains flashing and static effects.
Headphones recommended. The soundscape degrades as your signal does.

Hey everyone - sharing some useful information about the game:
The final level (Channel 10) is unwinnable as of now due to a last minute bug before submission causing some unintended behaviour in the last echo.
All other levels (1-9) are winnable and have been verified.
Levels 8 and 9 have intentionally been made to be challenging and require precise timing. I have attached the link to the gameplay clearing those levels - for anyone who might be interested or looking for the solution!
Level 8 solution - here
Level 9 solution - here
Thanks for playing, and sorry for the rough landing on the last level.
